Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP)
Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP)
At Springdale Primary School, we are committed to nurturing students who are rooted in Singapore and ready to thrive in a globalised world. Through our Internationalisation efforts, we develop students’ Civic, Global and Cross-Cultural Literacy, equipping them to contribute meaningfully to their community and nation, interact respectfully and empathetically with people from diverse backgrounds, and grow into responsible citizens of Singapore and the world.
Hosting Experiences
Hosting programmes form an integral part of our internationalisation efforts. By welcoming students and educators from overseas, our students gain meaningful opportunities to interact across cultures, build global awareness, and develop confidence in communication. These authentic exchanges foster openness, respect, and an appreciation of diverse perspectives.

Overseas Immersion Trip
Our Overseas Immersion Programme offers students a rich and meaningful
learning experience beyond the classroom. Through authentic exposure to
new environments and cultures, students develop independence and resilience,
while building adaptability as they navigate unfamiliar situations and
challenges. These experiences also deepen their sense of gratitude and
appreciation for Singapore, their families, and the school community.
Penang (2025)
Springdale Primary School’s 2025 Primary 5 Overseas Immersion Programme
to Penang centred on authentic learning experiences, where students learned
alongside local peers and developed confidence, adaptability, and global
awareness. Through classroom immersion, collaborative activities, and shared
interactions, they gained first-hand insights into different learning environments,
strengthening their communication skills and confidence in representing
Singapore on an international platform
Beyond the classroom, students engaged in a range of cultural and heritage experiences that brought learning to life. From hands-on batik painting to exploring historical landmarks and heritage sites, they deepened their appreciation of Penang’s diverse cultural influences while making meaningful connections between classroom learning and the real world.

Taipei (2026)
Our Overseas Immersion Trip to Taipei offers students meaningful experiences through visits to partner schools and exploration of the city’s culture and innovations. During the trip, students build friendships with international peers while strengthening bonds with their schoolmates. They develop greater appreciation for diversity, resilience, and independence as they adapt to new environments.
Students explored the hot springs at Yangmingshan, made pineapple tarts,
and learned about science and astronomy during their visit to the Taipei
Astronomical Museum. These enriching experiences deepened their appreciation
of Taipei’s unique culture and innovations, while also strengthening their
understanding and appreciation of Singapore.
