Department Activities
Mother Tongue Languages Fortnight
The Mother Tongue Languages Fortnight provides students with enriching opportunities to experience their Mother Tongue Languages beyond the classroom. Through cultural performances, language games, storytelling, and hands-on activities, students learn to communicate with confidence and integrity. These experiences promote Respect for diverse cultures, encourage Resilience as students step out of their comfort zones, and foster Harmony within the school community.
Conversational Chinese and Malay
The Conversational Chinese and Malay programmes focus on equipping students with practical communication skills for everyday situations. Through interactive lessons, role-plays, and authentic scenarios, students learn to express themselves clearly and confidently. The programme nurtures Responsibility in language use, builds Resilience in oral communication, and supports students in THRIVING as effective and confident communicators.
Festive Celebrations
Festive celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, and Deepavali play a key role in strengthening students’ cultural understanding and values education. Through participation in festive activities, performances, and traditional customs, students learn the importance of Respect, Integrity, Care, and Harmony. These celebrations provide meaningful opportunities for students to use their Mother Tongue Languages authentically, build friendships, and develop a strong sense of belonging in the school.
