DISCIPLINE APPROACH
Educative Discipline Philosophy
Discipline teaches responsibility, empathy, and self-regulation within a safe, caring environment where students thrive. At Springdale Primary School, we teach our students to be responsible for their own behaviour and how they can manage themselves so we may provide a safe and caring environment where every student can thrive.
Promoting Positive Behavior
Discipline helps students build good habits and social-emotional skills for thoughtful, respectful behavior. We use discipline as a tool to develop good habits and social-emotional skills.

Disciplinary consequences are educative, measured, and restorative to help students learn from mistakes. When students make mistakes, disciplinary consequences are used to help every student to learn by correcting the behaviour and teaching them strategies to replace undesirable behaviour so the relationships might be restored. Here are some tools we use in the classroom to help our students learn to develop good habits and manage their emotions.
