Principal's Message
Principal’s Message 2026
Welcome back to school, and a warm welcome to 2026.
As we begin this new year together, my heart is filled with gratitude
— for our
students who return with fresh hopes, for our staff who continue to give
so wholeheartedly, and for our parents and partners who walk alongside
us with trust and support.
2025 was a really good year for Springdale.
It was a year where we took deliberate time to consolidate, reflect, and
reset. For me personally, stepping into Springdale and being given the
space to understand our culture, honour our history, and build new momentum
with the team was a tremendous privilege. I am deeply thankful for the
strong foundations laid by those who came before me, and for the collective
effort that has shaped Springdale into the caring, vibrant community it
is today.
2025 was also a year of reimagining and envisioning the future of learning for our children.
As a staff, we explored what it means for Springdalites to thrive in a
changing world. We engaged in thoughtful conversations, challenged assumptions,
and worked together to clarify the kind of learners and people we hope
to nurture. This clarity has culminated in the refreshing of our Vision, Mission and Values,
and the development of a coherent Total Curriculum Framework that
guides our work moving forward.
Our refreshed Vision, Every Springdalite is a Thriving Learner and a Compassionate Changemaker,
captures our aspiration not just for academic success, but for the development
of strong character, well-being, purpose, and heart. Our Mission reaffirms
our belief that values-driven and innovative learning experiences are key
to empowering our students to learn deeply and lead positive change.
To bring these aspirations meaningfully into practice, our Total Curriculum Framework integrates the core components of our work:
-
The LCAP Teaching and Learning Framework, which ensures learning is intentionally designed, rigorous, relevant, and centred on the learner.
-
The THRIVE Framework, which anchors holistic development and student well-being through domains that foster purpose, resilience, voice, engagement, and care.
-
Our Curriculum Foci, which define the breadth of learning across knowledge, skills, values, dispositions, and competencies.
-
And surrounding all of this, our School Values — Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity, Care and Harmony — which shape the culture that sustains learning and growth.
These are not abstract ideas; they are meant to guide the experiences we craft in classrooms, the relationships we nurture with students, and the partnerships we build with families.
As we enter 2026, our focus is to operationalise and strengthen the implementation of this framework through our strategic thrusts — deepening teaching excellence, supporting holistic student development, and nurturing a caring, collaborative culture. This year will be about moving from envisioning to enacting, translating shared purpose into daily practice.
To our students — may 2026 be a year where you thrive and discover more
of who you are, what you can do, and how you can make a difference.
To our teachers and staff — thank you for your professionalism, teamwork,
and unwavering belief in every child.
To our parents and partners — thank you for your trust as we continue
this meaningful journey together.
Let us step into 2026 with courage, clarity, and hope.
Together, we THRIVE.
Warmest regards,
Mrs Anne Quek
